Student lunch is a free lunch menu app for university and university of applied sciences students. It combines student restaurant map search, lunch menus across Finland, dish illustrations and favourite restaurants. The app is available for iOS and Android.

Yes. The Student lunch map shows restaurant locations and lets you open the menu of a restaurant that interests you. You can look for lunch in your own city or another part of Finland. The website map can be filtered by city, restaurant name, diet and opening status.

Yes. The app includes dish illustrations to help you explore the menu. Dish images are AI-generated illustrations. The meal served may look different from the image. An illustration is not available for every dish.

The directory includes Kela-subsidised student restaurants at universities and universities of applied sciences across Finland. Nationwide coverage does not guarantee that every restaurant or daily menu is available. We do not aim to list vocational-school, upper-secondary-school or other institute cafeterias.

The most common reason is the restaurant’s own publishing schedule. During weekends, holidays, semester breaks or summer season, many higher-education restaurants do not publish menus at all or publish the next week’s menu only on Monday. If a source page changes, is temporarily unavailable or leaves the day empty, we do not invent menu data.

The website is designed for quickly checking the relevant lunch menu of the day. We primarily show the current menu so restaurant pages stay clear, especially on mobile. If today has no menu, we show that clearly and then show the next available menu day. Browsing future days and saving favourites work best in the app.

Many higher-education campus restaurants are closed on weekends or do not serve Kela-subsidised student lunch. Some publish Monday’s menu only on Monday morning. Because of that, missing weekend menus are often expected.

Higher-education student restaurants often follow the campus calendar. Summer holidays, Christmas break, Easter, public holidays and quieter study periods can affect opening hours and menu publishing. If a restaurant does not publish a menu, we do not fill it in ourselves.

Menus are refreshed automatically from their sources several times per day. The update process cannot show information that the restaurant has not published yet or that is temporarily unavailable from the source.

We aim to keep the information useful and current, but the restaurant is the final source for ingredients, allergens, prices and availability. Always verify important allergy and dietary information directly with the restaurant before buying.

Locations and opening hours may come from restaurant websites, public sources or other source material. If a campus moves, a restaurant changes name or the source updates later, there can be a delay.

In the app you can explore dishes through illustrations, save favourite restaurants and browse upcoming menus. The website is useful for finding student restaurants on a map and quickly checking today’s lunch.
